What’s on Your Vision/Dream Board?

What is a Vision Board?

A vision board is a tool used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. (Note that in our ultra digital age, you can also create vision boards to display on your computer screen and mobile devices. )

The supposedly ‘universal law of attraction‘ says you can begin to manifest your dreams into reality by yourself. The concept of the vision board (also known as a goal board, goal map, or treasure map) has been around for generations, but its gained a renewed interest and popularity after John Assaraf, a motivational speaker featured in the best-selling DVD documentary The Secret related his story of using vision boards to achieve his dreams.  What worries me about the message is that John Assaraf and others of this doctrine have taken the meaning of ‘spiritual’ to mean something other than being in perfect harmony with God.  In fact, John Assaraf coins himself as being a “spiritual Entrepreneur” that Integrates Science and Spirituality together to achieve maximum results in business and life (paraphrased from  In an interview on Larry King Live Mr. Assaraf states that we have to reclaim our own ‘power’.  Remember folks, power doesn’t come from us; it comes from God.

So the problem with Assaraf is that he doesn’t make any claim to the fact that these teachings come from God’s word or that He himself is a man of God.  It seems to be a taboo thing right now to make any claim that the knowledge comes from one of the oldest books we have in the history of the world which is The Holy Bible.

Holy Bible: A General Overview
The Holy Bible is a phenomenal account of history, comprised of 66 books, written over approximately 1600 years, by at least 40 distinct authors. The Old Testament (Old Covenant) contains 39 books written from approximately 1500 to 400 BC, and the New Testament (New Covenant) contains 27 books written from approximately 40 to 90 AD. The Jewish Bible (Tenach) is the same as the Christian Old Testament, except for its book arrangement. The original Old Testament was written mainly in Hebrew, with some Aramaic, while the original New Testament was written in Greek.  Read More  In a nutshell, the new age ideals come from ancient scriptures.  So lets get back to the root of the issue so we are sure not to run down a path of mis-information and twisted thoughts created by new authors who may lead you down a path of destruction (if you’re wondering what’s the worse that can happen, you’ll need to study just as I have and ask for knowledge, wisdom and understanding.  If you do, He will reveal the truth to you).

I have had this subject on my heart for some time now.  So let’s get this straight, am I saying that Assaraf is wrong and you are not supposed to have a vision board?  Far from it!  What we are set out to do here is prove to you that these new age ideas are partially right.  But they leave God out of the picture and there is where you will run into heart ache and pain when you are not aligned with his word and when you don’t have an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ to your creator who has left us a gift, that gift is the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit you have the ‘power’ to manifest your desires hopes and dreams.

Acts 2:38 English Standard Version (©2001)
And Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Furthermore, it is written that we can surely create a vision of what we hope for and dream for. I was so blessed and full of grace when his words were revealed to me justifying the ideas of vision boards along with every other positive thinking doctrine I have ever read in writing through Phillipians 4:8

Philippians 4:8

King James Version (KJV)

8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Once again, The Word of God is behind the thought process of the World view of positive affirmations etc.  We must be careful to understand that the power to be blessed with your desires only comes from grace from the Lord.  So if you subscribe to the doctrine of the world which says that YOU are the one manifesting these blessings into reality, beware and be careful because you may be opening the doors to spiritual confusion and chaos.

Your dreamboard should can be filled with ‘things’ like Aston Martins and big mansions.  But, the thing about it is you must think on the life style you will live.  Put a picture of you and your family on the dreamboard a happy picture!  Put a picture of the husband or wife and kids you want to have.

In this case, we are following Paul’s Holy Spirit led suggestion to think on what is Good, think on what is pure and lovely!  Because the fact of the matter is the car will not make you happy but the lifestyle you are thinking of will correct?  So, concentrate on the thought of the lifestyle and the peace that you will feel.  The gratification that you have worked hard and long for.

Be pleased to know that Jesus Christ says in John 14:13 American King James Version
“And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son”

So get your goals written down, pray, repent, ask and visualize peace, happiness, family, God’s favor and know that when you live in Him; His promises to us will be kept here on earth and in Heaven.  Amien

What’s the DANGER of Concentrating on Yourself?

Romans 8:5-11

21st Century King James Version (KJ21)

5For those who are according to the flesh mind the things of the flesh; but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
6For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace,
7because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so it be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His.
10And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you.

Romans 8:5-11

The Message (MSG)

5-8Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them”living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God isn’t pleased at being ignored.

9-11But if God himself has taken up residence in your life, you can hardly be thinking more of yourself than of him. Anyone, of course, who has not welcomed this invisible but clearly present God, the Spirit of Christ, won’t know what we’re talking about. But for you who welcome him, in whom he dwells”even though you still experience all the limitations of sin”you yourself experience life on God’s terms. It stands to reason, doesn’t it, that if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!

The Law of Attraction vs. The Word of God

This is the entire reason I started, in my studies I thought about whether or not what I learned by watching in 2006 was right or whether or not the Word of God was right because there are some cunning similarities.  In my search for knowledge it I found that there isn’t much difference between real life and the SciFi channel!  Do you remember the movies about the evil trolls that grant wishes or do you remember The Devil’s Advocate with Al Pacino and Keanu Reaves?  In those movies the idea that you get everything you want is real and true but because you didn’t realize who gave it to you it was an evil trick.  I believe these SciFi/horror movies are very close to real life.  So I am going to point out a few things that you may find very interesting to say the least.

Let me start off these examples with Ephesians 6:12 which teaches us; For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Synopsis of the Law of Attraction

The Law of Attraction states, like attracts like. Whatever you focus your thoughts upon will be drawn into your experience. Thoughts are magnetic and so attract to them more thoughts like it. Emotions and feelings are powerful amplifiers to thought. It is an energy phenomenon. It does not matter whether you desire the thing you are focusing upon. That which you are thinking and feeling will be drawn into your experience regardless. That is why the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. It is why the better it gets, the better it gets, and the worse it gets, the worse it gets. That is why fighting something you don’t want will always draw it into your experience. Think of yourself as a large magnet that draws to itself that which it is focused upon, and you will have the concept.

Conscious Creation

One of the corollary’s of the Law of Attraction is the principle of conscious creation. In order to get what you want, you must deliberately create it, through the conscious exercise of your free will choices. If you do not your life will be created for you by default, most likely through your own unconscious belief system reinforced by the thoughts, ideas and beliefs floating around in the mass consciousness, or by picking up and buying into the beliefs of others. A conscious creator causes things to happen in his or her life!

The Law of Allowing or, The Path of Least Resistance

The application of the previous four laws depend upon the fifth. It is vital to maintain a pure creative vibration aligned precisely to your desire. Resistance, indicated by negative emotion, places counter-thought and counter-intention into your creative vision. You can work, and work, and work and still not succeed, because the effectiveness of all action cycles is dependent upon your state of being. This precisely the opposite of what many of us have been taught; however, the universe has been designed to support your decisions and your vibrational orientation. Action is a subset of thought, for thought precedes action.

When you want something you want it now! However, no matter how skilled or resourceful you are there is always a time lag between the original conception and the manifestation or achievement of the goal. The creative process takes time! Allowing what is wanted essentially keeps your attention on the wanted thing, and off of the fact that you don’t have it yet. This keeps your vibrational signal oriented in the right direction, and allows you to rendezvous with the people and resources that match up with you. By not resisting the wanted thing you allow the law of like attracts like to work in your favor. Whatever you place your attention on you get more of. By relaxing into your creative process you strengthen your intention and become a more powerful attracting magnet for the things you want, and a more effective co-creator. In short, allowing is the aligning of your vibration with that of your desire.

When your thoughts, your focus and your intent are exclusively on what is wanted, you feel relaxed, joyful and lighthearted about the goal. Paradoxically, the more joyful you are, the less hard you have to work, and the more powerful and effective are your actions.

And all things, whatever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

And whatever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Proverbs 23:7

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
For as he thinks within himself, so he is. He says to you, “Eat and drink!” But his heart is not with you.

GOD’S WORD® Translation (©1995)
As he calculates the cost to himself, this is what he does: He tells you, “Eat and drink,” but he doesn’t really mean it.

King James Bible
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.

American King James Version
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, said he to you; but his heart is not with you.

I will stop right there on the comparison because it’s actually alot deeper!  I am already at over 1000 words in this post so and this is a lifetime of study!  Here’s why we are warned and given examples of tricks played on us in SciFi and horror movies; If you decide to be an Atheist or Agnostic you are picking a side, the wrong side.  In Luke 16:13 we learn “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”

With that said, don’t be surprised when you end up like Keanu Reaves in The Devil’s Advocate because you decided not to choose God as your reasoning behind the blessings and grace you are granted.  In Proverbs 24:16 The Word of God also teaches us “For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”  I know what you are thinking at this point, I’m not wicked, I do good to others and I give to others and everything I do is good so that doesn’t apply to me right?  Well consider this passage in Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I’m sure you all have heard that infamous passage in the Word of God which is “For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”

There you have it in God’s word, similar principles if not the same principles but the interesting thing about The Law of Attraction is that they took God out of the laws!  Register to receive rss feeds from the because we will cover the biblical laws of the universe… “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”  Romans 8:2

May God be with you!  Be blessed :-)

Are You Tempted to Take Credit for your Power?

As entrepreneurs we are disciplined in scheduling and goal setting.  Today is Monday on the 1st day of August and of course your list of things to do should be written down for today, the week, the month and if you are on top of your game you are reviewing the events of the summer and preparing to complete goals set for this quarter which ends this month.

If you have completed much of your scheduled items who are you giving the glory for that accomplishment?  Were you supposed to make a certain goal last month?  Have you accomplished it?  If the answer is yes I bid you congratulations!  If the answer is no, you may be resetting your goals and doubling up your schedule in this last month.  This morning, my meditation on God’s word led me to 2 Corinthians 3:5 which states;
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency [is] of God;

in other words, the power that he has given you to posses such a mind to accomplish your goals for your business and family is his and his alone.  Be careful not to jump around in celebration for the phenomenal accomplishments you have made as if you are the reason for the accomplishment.  Remember, the power and glory belong to Him.  If anything, you may celebrate Him and the grace he has given you.  The congratulations goes to God.  So let’s remember that our power is derived from Him.  Thank Him and worship Him so that he may continue to bless you with the power of His Holy Spirit!

To your continued grace, power and success!

Hallelujah! The first Post :-)

Thank God that he has allowed me to start this blog. Father I thank you for all that you are doing for me and thank you for using me to find your lost sheep. It is my prayer to God to ask him to bless this blog that I may bring you information that he wants us to know. To open your hearts to Him and utilize this forum to be one of knowledge, wisdom and understanding. To bring the success minded, driven entrepreneur to his knees in humble thanks for your grace and blessings in an effort to honor You and your teachings. In the name of Yeshua Hamachia, Amen

Luke 15

New King James Version (NKJV)

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying:
4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
